Project's Overview
Online Auction Platform is a full-stack MERN web application designed for online auction listing, bidding, item approval, auction scheduling, bid history tracking, winner declaration, user management, and admin moderation. The system allows users to register, log in, browse auctions, list auction items, place bids, track bids, manage profile details, and view auction results.
The project includes a dedicated Admin Panel where admins can manage platform statistics, categories, users, auction items, bid history, approval status, auction schedules, item activation, static CMS pages, and auction results. Admin can approve or reject pending listings, set auction start and end times, activate or deactivate items, view bids on each item, and declare auction results as sold or unsold.

Step 1: Open project folder

Step 4: Frontend setup

Step 5: Seed the database

The seed script clears existing data and inserts sample users, categories, auction items, bids, and static pages.
Step 6: Run backend
Open Terminal 1:

npm run dev
Backend runs at:

Step 7: Run frontend
Open Terminal 2:
cd frontend
npm start
Frontend opens at:
http://localhost:3000
The project runs backend and frontend in two separate terminals.
