Project's Overview
Tailor Shop Management System is a full-stack MERN web application designed for tailor shops, stitching businesses, boutique stores, and made-to-measure clothing services. The system provides a public storefront, customer portal, and admin operations console for managing tailoring services, fabric catalog, customer measurements, stitching orders, payments, delivery, invoices, reports, and shop identity.
Customers can browse brands, fabrics, and services, register or log in using email/mobile, save measurement charts, place stitching orders through a 4-step wizard, track order status, view payments, and print invoices. Admins can manage customers, measurements, brands, fabrics, categories, stitching services, walk-in orders, order pipeline, trial notes, alterations, delivery desk, payments, reports, shop details, and admin password settings.

Step 1: Install dependencies
From the project root:

Step 2: Configure backend environment
Create or update backend/.env:

Change JWT_SECRET before real deployment and do not commit production secrets.
Step 3: Seed sample data
npm run seed
The seed command clears existing collections and inserts medium-size demo data including shop, admin, 12 customers, catalog, and around 20 orders.
Step 4: Start both servers
npm run dev
Open:

This starts Express and Vite together.
